On 17 June 2021, took place A Virtual Journey into the Sahel, jointly organized by the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank & IMF, and the World Bank. During this virtual field visit, participants had an opportunity to engage in an immersive tour of the region, showcasing International Development Association (IDA) projects that exemplify the World Bank Sahel strategy focused on climate, people, and infrastructure. The meeting provided a platform for legislators and donors from around the world to discuss with World Bank Group teams, the IMF, governments, and various stakeholders from the Sahel on the challenges and strategies for achieving results in a region affected by climate change, conflict, and the impact of COVID-19.
